Elina Loukou

Elina Loukou is an architect and co-founder of studio Demachinas, whose work
explores the intersection of architecture and theatre, blending spatial design with
performative and material sensibilities.
She has collaborated with leading studios such as Allies & Morrison and Rogers
Stirk Harbour + Partners in London, as well as smaller practices including aWhales
Architects in Athens and 3s Architects in London. Her projects span all RIBA work
stages, combining conceptual depth with meticulous attention to detail.
Elina has been nominated for the EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies
van der Rohe Award for the Three Object Apartment, and has received DOMa’s
First Award for Best New Architecture in an Existing Building and Second Award for
Best Work by a New Architect.
A graduate of the Royal College of Art, London (MA Interior Design, 2014) and the
National Technical University of Athens (Diploma in Architecture, 2007), Elina has
also taught externally at Central Saint Martins and the University of Cardiff.
